ASCOR-RMS

ASCOR RMS (Reel Stock Management System) offers the following advantages:

Data Tracking & Visualization

The automatic reel transport at the corrugator is visualized by ASCOR RMS. The visualization offers the possibility to control all activities at the corrugator wet end. Information about the individual reels can easily be called up and processed.
As far as available, information concerning the corrugator, e. g. current and intended orders, paper requirements, etc., and details about the reel stands / splicers or part reels are visualized. The availability of this information depends on the corrugator type and the interfaces to the superior or inferior systems.

Store Management of the Reel Store

Das RMS provides all functions and tools necessary for the management of the reel store. The store management is based on the utilization of a clear reel number.

For easy and reliable identification of the reels, they all have to be equipped with labels on which figures the reel information both as plain text and as barcode.

The original labels of the reel manufacturer can be reused if they meet certain standards. If the labels of the manufacturers do not meet these requirements, the RMS System offers an interface which allows to print own labels as Batch Job.

The store layout can be parameterized just as one likes. Place, size and the designation of the storage places are available as parameters as well as the logical assignment to the individual sections. Like before, different limits, e. g. the height of a reel stack, can still be assigned to a storage place.

Store Management and Stock Lists

The functions for store and inventory management are integrated in the visualization. Different stock lists can be displayed and printed.

Fork Lift Guiding System

The fork lift driver has various stock and information functions on his terminal allowing him to execute all necessary operations such as storing, removing and shifting directly on his terminal without leaving the fork lift.

Besides the stock list, the fork lift driver can also call up a list containing the production schedule or a proposal for stock removal.

The WLAN Standard Protocol (Ethernet 802.11b) is used for the communication to the PC terminals installed on the fork lift. The fork lift terminals are equipped with a touch screen.

Tracking of all Store Operations and Production Events

The Server tracks the history of all reel-related bookings. Each booking-related event is recorded. Due to these data we know how and when a reel was used. The booking history is stored for a determinable period of time. This history can be accessed directly so that also operations carried out a longer time ago can easily be analysed. Access is possible via visualization; the events are sorted according to reel or set-up number.

Interface to the corrugator, Setup or Quality Lists

The RMS is able to process the current data formats of different corrugators. The received information is made available to the user or provides the basis for the reel proposal list. The interface to the corrugator can be used as online interface which is very close to the real time of the production process, or as offline interface with considerable time difference.

Interfaces to the PPS / ERP System

The RMS collects information about the reel consumption. This information can be forwarded to the superior system at different moments:

  • immediately after the complete consumption of the reel
  • immediately after each reel change
  • immediately after each setup change of all used reels
